we can use used to when we had specific habit or something happened regulary in the past , but no longer happen.
يعني نستخدمها لما يكون عندنا عادة كنا نسويها بالماضي او شي متعودين نسويه بس الأن لا خلاص ما عاد نسويه

example:

I used to play tinnes a lot , but I don't play very often now .

يعني أنو أنا كنت ألعب تنس أو من عادتي ألعب تنس لكن الأن لا ألعب .

David used to spent a lot of money on clothes. These days he cann't afford it .

Do you go to the cinema much ? Not now , but I used to .


* notice:

the verb which comes after used to shuld be in the **************** form
الفعل اللي يأتي بعد used to لابد أن يكون مجرد .

We also use used to for things that were true , but are not true any more
يعني أشياء كانت بالماضي شيء والأن تغيرت لشيء ثاني .

example :

This building is now a furniture shop . It used to be a cinema .
هذا المبنى الأن محل للأثاث . كان مكان للسينما .



used to think M ark was unfriendly , but now I realise he is a very nice person




The normal question form is did .... used to ?

example:


Did you use to eat a lot of sweets when you were a child?





The nigative form is didn't use to ...

example:


I didn't use to like him or I used not to like him
