Ways of Looking
frown = يعبس
We frown if we are rather annoyed or if we are concentrating
stare = يحدق

blink = ينظر بعينين نصف مفتوحتين
If you go out into bright sunlight after being in the dark , you sometimes blink

glimpse = يلمح
Did you glimpse someone pass the window a moment ago? I thought I just saw someone
wink = يغمز
I thought he was serious untill i saw him wink at me to show he was joking
peer = يحدق
Grandfather has very bad eyes. He has to peer at the newspaper to read it
glare = يحملق
I saw the motorist get out of his car and glare furiously at the other driver who had run into the back of him
glance = يلقي نظر عجلة
I saw him glance quickly at his watch

بالرجوع إلى الأمثلة السابقة .. نلاحظ أن أغلب الأفعال التي تتعلق بالنظر .. يأتي بعدها حرف الجر at مثل الفعل :

wander = يتجول / يطوف

stroll= يتمشى

limp = يعرج
His injured foot made him limp badly
slip = ينزلق
Be careful or you'll slip on this icy bit of pavement
creep = يمشي ببطء
Everyone was asleep when I returned so I had to creep to my room without making a noise

dash = يندفع بسرعة
It began to rain and we had to dash into a shop to keep dry
trudge = يمشي مجهداً
The exhausted men had to trudge for five miles through the snow
